Meet Emily Ponath, owner and operator of Rack + Clutch.
When the boutique in the Central West End that Emily was a buyer for closed its doors in the spring of 2012, she refused to give up her career in the apparel industry. Inspired by the brave and valiant women on the east and west coasts who had started the fashion truck revolution, she decided to become a gypsy herself and started working on the plans for Rack + Clutch. Emily has been a buyer for three different companies in St. Louis since graduating from the Textile and Apparel Management program at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2004.
After a successful first year in business, Emily's husband, Jeff, began growing tired of the corporate world and wanted to pursue a life of self-employment. In July of 2014, he made the decision to leave his job as an accounting manager in order to help Emily keep up with the growing demand for her business. Jeff has a Masters of Accountancy from the University of Missouri and spent the first two years of his career at a Big Four public accounting firm, followed by seven years at a leading company in the life science industry. By working together, they hope to make Rack + Clutch your favorite place to shop in St. Louis and create a unique online store you'll want to share with all of your out-of-town friends!
