My Own Identity

This week, I asked my friend Lauren Neiwoehner, Director of Identity Salon + Medspa + Fitness, skincare expert and VIP makeup artist for Jane Iredale mineral cosmetics to do my makeup for our shoot! Lauren just learned some new tips & techniques from Hannah Hatcher, a New York Global Beauty Educator for Jane Iredale, who is also a makeup artist on the set of Sons of Anarchy & NYFW, so she told me all about it while giving my face a fresh update! Lauren started with a skin primer (which I have never used before, but it smelled amazing), followed by a BB cream with SPF, cream blush, pressed powder & a setting powder. Then she proceeded with the eyes, using a new color palette called "Smoke & Mirrors"  and finished with a bright pop of Caribbean pressed shadow. On my lips, she used a Peach pencil liner topped with Tangerine gloss, which was a nice update to my classic red lip I wear everyday. All of the products Lauren used are non-irritating to the most sensitive skin and provide active skin care benefits, which I need so much since I have taken Accutane for my severe acne. Twice. The full coverage that the base layer provides without feeling heavy or cakey is fabulous and I am obsessed with the lip color she chose! It's going on my short list of new favorites! Lauren has been doing makeup consults, lessons, special event and bridal makeup for the past 8 years and says she loves being part of her client's special day. Taking some time out for myself to relax while someone else did the work was just what I needed yesterday and even though I am very particular about my makeup, she completely lived up to my (high) expectations and I was more than thrilled with the result. I found Lauren (and Debbie Pickles who does my hair) when the ladies who own Identity found my truck when I first opened in 2013 and I have been going there ever since!
